The Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Mitchell County
Hospital Health Systems is a comprehensive program for heart patients. It is
staffed by ACLS certified nurses and has state of the art heart monitoring
equipment.
Cardiac rehab is available for patients who have had chest
pain, heart attacks, angioplasty or coronary artery bypass surgery.
Rehab consists of not only exercise, but also education.
We offer education regarding specific diets and have a dietician available
for consults. Besides diets, we also educate participants in the risk factors
of heart disease. We work with patients to control their risk factors by
modifying their diet, exercising regularly, controlling diabetes, controlling
high blood pressure, stopping tobacco use and lowering their cholesterol.
Cardiac rehab is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays.
