THE SUNFLOWER AWARD AT MCHHS

The Sunflower Award was created to recognize clinical staff who go above and beyond in their performance in providing exceptional care. Sunflower Award nominees consistently display skill, compassion, kindness, dedication and enthusiasm – exemplifying the kind of person that our patients, their families and our staff recognize as an outstanding role model. We are proud to announce that our Sunflower Award Honoree is Shannon Whipple, Acute CNA. Her nomination stated, “I would like to nominate Shannon Whipple, Acute CNA, for the Sunflower Award. Shannon consistently demonstrates herself to be a great role model. In addition to being an excellent CNA, she is friendly and engaging with everyone, which significantly boosts the morale of those around her. Patients and colleagues alike feel welcomed and valued by Shannon. Her dedication to both is commendable. She is a blessing. Furthermore, Shannon's active participation in numerous MCHHS and community events truly distinguishes her. She goes above and beyond to help others and represent our organization positively, even outside of the walls of the hospital. Her consistent involvement serves as a wonderful example of community engagement, a mindset she is also instilling in her grandchildren. It's inspiring to see them become so involved with Shannon's support and encouragement. In summary, Shannon is a remarkable role model in many ways and truly deserving of this recognition.”

We would like to recognize the other employees nominated for The Sunflower Award during this period. Nominees were Nicole Fitzgerald, RCC; Erin Stewart, Radiology; Max Thomas, Radiology; and Jenny Wessling, Acute.

Employees may be nominated by providers, patients, family / visitors, volunteers and MCHHS employees. Online nominations can be made at www.mchks.com/EmployeeRecognitionAwards. Awards are presented twice a year.
