Inpatient Care

Levels of Care

Acute Care
Acute care involves short-term treatment for a serious illness or injury. The focus is on stabilizing the patient and discharging them once they are healthy and no longer require intensive medical attention.

Skilled Swing Bed
Skilled Swing Bed services are available to Medicare patients who need continued skilled care following an acute hospital stay. These patients no longer require acute care but are not yet ready to return home. A qualifying hospital stay of at least three midnights is required before admission to swing bed care.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
ICU care is provided for critically ill or unstable patients who require close monitoring, advanced medical support, and specialized equipment. Patients in the ICU often need constant care due to life-threatening conditions or after major surgeries.

Observation Care
Observation care is an outpatient service for patients who need further monitoring or treatment but do not meet the criteria for inpatient admission. It is typically used for patients expected to improve within 24 to 48 hours under medical supervision.
